I miss you.
Your sense of humor.
The brownies for breakfast.
The post-trial margaritas.
Giving me crap about the Cyclones.
Giving you crap about the Hawkeyes.
Giving Jamie treats because he was chewing on your pants.
You videoing my agility runs.
And apologizing for it.
They weren't that bad.
Well, okay, sometimes they were.
Counting all the cigarettes you didn't smoke.
Playing "snap-snap" and "git yer tail" with Phoenix.
The "happy ass" story.
Camping at Saylorville and dog races in the tent.
That stupid deer you hit on the way to Ames.
Laughing at our handling mistakes.
Telling Phoenix to stay out of tunnels.
The year you bought beers for the team judges at Des Moines,
right before we went into the ring.
Fish-tunias.
All the cookies you brought to trials.
Always encouraging me.
Always listening.
You were an awesome friend.
I love you.
I miss you very much.
So sorry for your loss. Sounds like she was a special friend. It's a lovely tribute.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have lost a very special friend. So sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteOh sweetie, I am so sorry to hear this. I know you mentioned her often and how blessed you were to be friends. Let your heart heal my friend....prayers for all of Rilda's family and friends.
ReplyDeleteThe way she could make the best mannered dogs be naughty! How she never meet a dog, or kid she didn't like. The duct tape on her car. The CUBS!! OMG the CUBS!! Those little chocolate chip cookies. Her hood flopping on top of her head, while Sophie was downing on the table, how she always checked the weather to be sure you had save passage, or warned you of storms so you could get home, her pumpkin bread for Christmas, her whole hearted joy when you did well, our trip to AKC Nationals in OH in 2007, her new puppy Nike, a shoulder to cry on....so much more. I'm sure there are agility courses in heaven WITHOUT TABLES for her and Sophie to enjoy! Remember you promised to save me a GOOD spot Rilda Sue!! Miss you!
ReplyDeleteTammy having a "captive audience" and *making* Rilda learn how to knit on the way to those AKC Nationals in 2007! LOL
DeleteIm so sorry. I really wish we did tributes to people before they passed so they could see how much they meant to people. Ive been thinking that a lot lately. But sometimes, or many times, they pass unexpectently so it wouldnt be possible. Again, so sorry about your friend.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss. What a lovely memorial to a special friend.
ReplyDeleteShe sounded like a great friend and a wonderful person. My condolences to her family and to you on the loss of someone special.
